This policy explains what Online Compass Free does and does not collect. The short version: the compass is built to work in your browser, and we do not need your GPS location just to tell which direction you're facing.

Compass readings

Compass and orientation calculations happen on your device, in your browser. Sensor readings are not intentionally sent to our server for compass processing.

The standard compass does not require GPS location simply to determine heading. Your phone's orientation sensors are enough for direction readings on supported devices.

Accounts and databases

The site does not currently have user accounts, login features, subscriptions, or a user database for compass functionality. You can use the compass without creating a profile.

Analytics

Online Compass Free uses Google Analytics to understand general website usage. This helps us see things like which pages are visited, what devices and browsers people use, approximate geographic information, referrer information, and general interaction data.

Google Analytics may use cookies or similar browser technologies. We do not send compass headings, raw orientation sensor readings, sensor accuracy values, camera video, images, or floor-plan content to Google Analytics. Compass orientation processing stays in your browser, and the camera preview stays on your device.

Advertising

Advertising is planned for the future, but ads are not currently implemented. We are not currently using advertising cookies through the site. If ads or advertising partners are added later, this policy should be updated before or alongside that change.

Server and hosting information

Like most websites, hosting infrastructure may automatically receive basic request data, such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, and time of request. This can be used for security, troubleshooting, performance, and normal website delivery.

Email contact

If you email us, we receive the information you choose to include in that message, such as your email address, device details, bug reports, or feedback. We use that information to read and respond to your message and improve the site where appropriate.

Third-party services

The current compass experience does not require accounts, payments, or third-party login services. We use Google Analytics for basic website analytics. This policy may be updated if advertising, hosting tools, email tools, or other third-party services are added or changed.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the site changes. The updated version will show a new "Last updated" date at the top of the page.
